Abstract: We should fully strengthen Marxism’s guiding role in the process of constructing philosophical general education in the new period. Firstly, it is determined by the nature and aim of philosophical general education; secondly, it is the necessary result of the pluralism of contemporary social thoughts; thirdly, it is the pressing request for popularization of Marxism. How to strengthen it？Fully improving Marxism’s attraction and cohesion is the essential way; constructing philosophical general readings guided by Marxism is an important path, and changing traditional mode of teaching is the inevitable choice.
